All three were thrown into the action in the 2-1 win away at Wolves with Jermaine Wright scoring a 20-yard screamer on his debut.
Wright started his career at Millwall and did very well in the lower ranks. He looked a very promising player but he was snapped up by Wolves before he could make his first team debut. He made 25 appearances for Wolves scoring one goal and enjoyed a brief loan spell at Doncaster before he moved to Crewe permanently. He made 55 appearances for Crewe and scored 5 goals in only a one year period. He left Crewe for Ipswich in 1999 where he made 170 appearances for the Tractor Boys, scoring six goals. In 2004 he left Town for Leeds United and has now moved to the Lions on loan.
Wright was thrilled about his equaliser at Molineux on his Lions debut. "And it was a great feeling to pull on the Lions shirt after all this time. I had always wanted to play for Millwall. Friends asked why I would go to the division's bottom club, but I see it as an ideal opportunity." he said.
"Winning was a great way to start. The lads would have been happy just to get a draw going to a place like Molineux, especially with their home record. But we put in a disciplined performance, worked hard and played some good football."
Ady Williams has also been snapped up by Lee on a three-month loan. He has had a very impressive career, spending most of his time at Reading.
He has scored 20 goals, which is fairly impressive for a defender. Williams has also played for Wales several times but he is now coming to the end of his career. He spent four years at Wolves during the middle of his career and spent last season at Coventry making 21 appearances scoring 2 goals.
William's cool headed performance on Tuesday was just what Millwall wanted. "We are not naive enough to think it will all be roses from here," he said. "It went well on Tuesday but that is a long time ago. There is a lot of hard work to be done if we want to earn more points. One fantastic result does not mean it is now going to be bang, bang, bang.We now have a big game at Sheffield Wednesday. We will go into that a lot more confident after a good result. Already, only eight games in, we are talking about it being a crucial match. But if we can come away without being beaten, or even with getting all three points, then we can start looking forward to climbing the table. The main thing at Wolves was to not be beaten. To get all three points was a massive bonus."
Philip Ifil is fairly inexperienced and arrived from Tottenham on Monday. He has only played two games for Spurs but has played for England at U-16, U-17 and U-19 level. And Ifil was thrilled with the fact 74 travelling fans chanted "Ay-ay-iffy" at Wolves.
"I didn't know it was for me," he said. "I was concentrating so much on my job I didn't even hear it. It was a great honour."
