According to reports in the Coventry Evening Telegraph, Millwall are on the verge of making a move for City defender Andrew Whing.

Nigel Spackman is believed to have made inquiries about the right back, who has just returned from a pre-season tour of the United States with the Sky Blue, after new signing Richard Shaw recommended the youngster but no official approach has been made as yet.

Whing, 21, was a first-team regular under former City manager Gary McAllister but has recently struggled to hold down a place in face of competition from Louis Carey and Richard Duffy and now seems surplus to requirements at the Ricoh Stadium.
