Having set up Neil Harris' winner against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, the roles were reversed this afternoon when Harris cross for Hubertz to slot home from six yards out to give manager Willie Donachie his third win on the spin. And with The Lions enteraining Tranmere Rovers at The Den next weekend some fans are entertaining the possibility of an unlikely top six finish.
Williams, who was starting his first game since returning from a loan spell with Torquay United netted shortly before halftime after James Coppinger had given Doncaster the lead.
"We began the game very poorly and had to change things around to get ourselves into it," said manager Donachie after the game. "Then once we got the equaliser we enjoyed a very good spell before half-time.
"Both sides had good chances in the second-half, but I always felt we were capable of scoring again, which is what happened.
"Once again I just have to praise the honesty and commitment of my players who are determined to ensure that we finish the season strongly."
