The manager came out with the statement after the team were booed off the field following their crushing 4-0 defeat at home to Southampton in the Carling Cup. Although it has to be said, most of the boos were in the direction of the manager, who once again changed formations, rather than the effort of the team.
"I would say to supporters: If you want Millwall to do well please turn up and get behind the team," the boss told the club's official site. "If you don't want to support me then fair enough but these next two games could get our season going.
"No one likes losing but we've got to stick together - we'll turn it round but we need support from the fans.
"If the supporters think changing the manager again is what is needed, then keep shouting for it. But I'm here to do a job and we've got two massive home games coming up."
However, should the team fail to take maximum points from their next two league games, both of which are at home, then the axe may well fall on the former Chelsea player.
