Richard Sadlier finally got the chance to say goodbye to Millwall in style yesterday with a ten-minute cameo in his testimonial game at The Den.
Heavy rain appeared to have an adverse effect on the attendance, however, but nearly 4,000 fans brave the elements to see a keenly fought contest, with Boro scoring at both ends to secure the draw!
David Wheater put the home side ahead after diverting the ball into his own net after 28 minutes but Rhys Williams equalised with just ten minutes remaning.
But the game - and the day - was all about Richard Sadlier and he resumed his partnership with Neil Harris late in the day. And he was denied a stonewall penalty when Wheater appeared to rugby tackle him in the box but the referee played on.
At the end of the game, the striker was given a guard of honour from the players as he left the field after saying goodbye one final time.
