Wilkins's appointment was announced on the club's official website earlier this afternoon and the man who helped guide Millwall to the 2004 FA Cup Final is looking forward to helping out.
"The reason I'm coming back is that I owe Tutts a debt for all the work he did for Dennis and myself when we were in the management situation," he revealed. "I'm now coming in to see if I can help him out in any way.
"One thing I'll be trying to do is to help put a smile back on people's faces, because you can't play this game if you're like a coiled up spring. It is certainly a tall order for Millwall to stay in Championship, but it's not an impossible challenge and I'm looking forward to helping the club meet it in any way I can."
Tuttle, meanwhile, heaped similar praise on Wilkins.
"Ray's experience will be invaluable to us," he said. "And I know I'll benefit from having him around. Equally important is the fact that the players are pleased that he's back because they have the utmost respect for him as a person and for his knowledge of the game."
