Preston signs on

The highly-rated Preston Edwards has finally put pen to paper on his first professional contract at Millwall, keeping him at The Den until the summer of 2009.

The England Under-18 goalkeeper, who has been attracting admiring glances from the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham, was originally due to sign early last month but a dislocated shoulder injury sustained in training delayed proceedings.

The 17-year-old as yet to make a first team appearance for The Lions but was an unused sub earlier this season against Blackpool.
