Kenny Jackett has rewarded 18-year-old defender Pat O'Connor with his first professional contract after impressing with a string of fine performances for both the under 18s and the reserves.
The youngster signed this morning and was quick to aim his sights beyond the reserves.
"I'm very happy to have signed", O'Connor told the club's official website. "I'm looking to continue improving my game. I've already been on the bench a few times but now I'm looking to take that next step.
"I've been working every day with Scott Fitzgerald and Richard Shaw, and obviously it's great that Kenny Jackett has given me my chance. I'd like to thank them all for their help in my career so far."
