Nethercott, who signed for the Lions way back in 1998, enjoyed a successful three month loan spell with The Chairboys last season but even though results improved with his arrival, he couldn't stop their downward spiral which saw the Buckinghamshire side relegated for the first time in their League history.
He will now lead Tony Adams' defence as they look to bounce straight back up at the first attempt.
