Muzzy, who is still recovering from an injury picked up in April's F.A. Cup Semi Final, will join up with the Socceroos at the beginning of September as the Australians prepare for their two games World Cup qualifying games against the Solomon Islands.
Despite only returning to training recently, Muscat is hopeful of playing a part in these games - which are scheduled to take place in mid-October - and could make a return to the Lions first team some time in September.
