Millwall last night moved back into the play-offs for the first time since last September after a 2-1 victory over Rotherham United at The Den.

Despite stringing a run of results together that hasn't seen Dennis Wise's men taste defeat since December, The Lions had been rooted in mid-table as they attempted to make up lost ground and many pundits have been ignoring the club when dicussing the First Division run-in. Last night's victory puts them firmly back into the frame.

But it could've been so much better. Despite controlling the game for large periods, Millwall failed to build on their 1-0 lead - a clear margin of two goals would have seem them climb above Ipswich Town into fifth - and almost paid the price when Michael Proctor converted a controversial penalty for the away side in the 89th minute. However, Tim Cahill was on hand to spare The Lions' blushes when he met a Peter Sweeney cross a minute later to secure the points.

Dennis Wise will be looking for his thrid straight win on Saturday against Burnley - also at The Den - before facing Neil Warnock's Sheffield United at Bramble Lane in midweek.
