Williams, who burst on the scene two years ago as The Lions slumped to relegation, is rumoured to have been placed on the transfer list by the manager after he found out that he wasn't to feature in Donachie's plans next season and demanded first team football.
Colchester United, Crystal Palace and Southend United are said to already be sniffing around should the rumours prove to be true, with The U's tabling a bid of around £300k.
This isn't the first time Williams has thrown his toys out of the pram. Last season he spent a short spell on loan at Torquay United after again demanding first team football.
