Wise was dismissed for the 13th time in his career just three minutes after coming on a substitute on Saturday by referee Rob Styles for a challenge on United's Chris Armstrong.
Lions Chief Executive Ken Brown commented: "Having studied the video a number of times Theo and Ray Wilkins are of the opinion that we have a case. Consequently we will be launching an appeal to the FA about Dennis's sending off."
