Millwall have decided to appeal Gary Alexander's red card that he picked up during the 4-2 defeat at Bristol Rovers in the hope of over-turning the decision and having the striker available for Saturday's game against Leyton Orient.
Alexander was dimissed just before half-time after he was adjudged to have blocked Ricky Lambert's goal-bound effort with his arm. However, the striker claimed the ball hit his chest and after looking at the video replays manager Kenny Jackett agrees that The Lions have a case.
"It looks a harsh red card," he told the South London Press. "As their striker Rickie Lambert said, there was no hand in the air or anything that looked deliberate.
"I spoke to the ref after the game and he said he would look at the DVD afterwards, which is good of him.
"The impact hit him on the chest - if he had been wearing a jacket it would have hit his lapel. So we will appeal."
