Lions hold Spurs in pre-season friendly

Millwall continued their unbeaten run of of pre-season friendlies thanks to a goal from Gary Alexander sixteen minutes from time that secured a draw against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The game, which was played behind closed doors, was a lively affair with a Spurs side that featured Lions targets Charlie Daniels and Andy Barcham and The Lions were guilty of wasting a number of gilt-edged chances in the first half before Tottenham's Alex Olsen scored from the spot on the hour.

But after a period of sustained pressure from Kenny Jackett's men, Alexander poppd up with a pile-driver to peg Spurs back.

The game was also notable for the appearance of Lenny Pidgeley on the subs' bench after an unsuccessful trial with Motherwell.
