Millwall striker Lewis Grabban was singled out by boss Kenny Jackett after The Lions hit back deep into injury time to secure a point against Southampton despite dominating the game.
Saints goalkeeper Kelvin Davis was the busier of the two goalkeepers and made several fine saves, including one world class save from Danny Schofield's low curling shot but it was the visitors that looked to have secured all three points after Ricky Lambert's deflected freekick deep into injury time looped over David Forde in the Millwal goal.
However, The Lions hit back straight from the restart when on-loaning signing Liam Trotter waltzed his way into the box and slotted the ball past the helpless Davis.
But despite rescuing a point, Jackett was disappointed not to take all three points.
"It was an emotional rollercoaster but overall, I'm pleased with my players and the performance," he told BBC London. "I thought we took the game to Southampton, we created more chances and had more of the ball.
"The only criticism I can have is that we didn't take more chances when they came, four chances came to Lewis Grabban and it was one of those days for him when he missed."
