The former Chelsea player has made just 10 starts for The Lions, with a further six appearances as a sub, and scored his only goal against Bradford City back in December. He has failed to establish himself since arriving in the summer and its hoped the move will rejuvinate the Portugese Under-21 international.
Also on his way out is defender Zaoumana Bakayogo, who is expected to link up with relegation rivals Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday.
Both players are expected to return to The Den in the summer once their loan spells have expired.
