The former Portsmouth and Reading midfielder is set to undergo a medical at The Den tomorrow and will sign a one-year deal if all goes well.
"The fact that he's turned down a two year deal at Swindon in favour of a one year contract here says a lot about him," said Claridge. "Sammy's quick, hard working and represents very good value for us. I'm looking forward to having him here, and hopefully we can bring in one or two more new faces before too long."
