Manager Mark McGhee has decided to rest the midfielder in the hope that he will recover in time for the away match against Sunderland this weekend.
Ifill's absence will see new boy Noel Whelan come into the side for his full debut. Whelan started on the bench against Wigan due to a lack of match fitness and will be hoping to strike up a successful partnership with Neil Harris tonight.
