The former Scottish international was joined by left-back loan signing Jamie Vincent from Derby County, who will also be at The Den for the next six months.
However, Colin Lee's hopes of completing a hat-trick of signings before the League deadline for Sunday's match at Leeds United won't be realised with Portuguese winger Carlo Fangueiro's proposed move unlikely to go through in time.
Lee also revealed that his search for a back-up goalkeeper is still on-going after a proposed target changed his mind late Thursday evening.
Speaking to the club's official site, Lee explained: "As far as I was concerned everything was agreed, but then at the last minute the player told me he wanted first team football and I replied that I couldn't guarantee him that.
"We have a very good keeper here in Andy Marshall, and whilst I promised that there would be fair competition for the number one spot, I could not automatically put him ahead of Andy. Consequently the player has decided not to come and I'm very disappointed."
