Pat Holland could make a surprise to return to The Den if things go according to plan after boss Nigel Spackman revealed that he has offered Billy Bonds' former assistant a post on his backroom staff.
Holland, who left The Den before the end of the 1996/97 to take up a coaching role at Tottenham's Youth Academy, has been approached with regards to the position of Chief Scout, a role formerly held by David Tuttle before he stepped into the manager's hot seat. And Spackman is confident that he'll have his man before the season starts.
"I discovered through a conversation with someone else that Pat was interested in doing some scouting work again," the manager told the club's official site. "When I mentioned the vacancy for a Chief Scout here he indicated that it might be a role he would consider.
"We are now in the process of discussing the details further with a view to Pat joining us in the position of Chief Scout."
