Defenders Mark Phillips, Paul Robinson and Zak Whitbread have all been the subject of bids from other clubs plus striker Chris Zebroski but surprisingly there has been no interest in midfielders Marvin Williams and Marvin Elliott - who were thought to be the most saleable assets of the current squad.
Speaking to the South London Press, Donachie explained the reasoning behind the offers for The Lions' current crop of defenders.
"Every team is desperate for good central defenders and we have four very good ones. "There's been a lot of interest all season but we need them here.
"Chris is a very honest player - he had a tough time at Plymouth, but he has been great for me. I have switched him around or taken him off, but he has just got on with it. He's been a great pro."
The manager also revealed that the club hope to sign another midfielder next week.
"I hope it can happen on Monday but red tape might delay it until Tuesday," he said. "It is one area where we are not good enough.
"He will win the ball and then play it simple. He is experienced and has played at the highest level."
