Byfield: Loser this time round

Despite scoring a glut of goals during the course of the month - including a breath-taking 35-yarder, Millwall's Darren Byfield lost out to Bristol City's Enoch Showunmi in the race to be League One's Player of the Month for January.

And he wasn't the only one to miss out on an award as Manager Willie Donachie was pipped to the Manager of the Month title by Doncaster Rovers' Sean O'Driscoll.

However, considering the effects these awards usually have on the recipients, its just as well as The Lions continue to fight their way out of trouble at the bottom of the table.
