The Millwall chairman came out and backed his manager in public following a string of articles both in the national press and online that falsely claimed that the board had held an emergency meeting after the 4-0 defeat to Carlisle on Saturday. Nothing, apparently, could be further from the truth.
"There was no crisis meeting," said Till. "I spoke to Willie yesterday, it was only to discuss normal issues like we do all the time.
"It has been a strange week for the club because last Tuesday we had such a good win against Northampton and we felt we were turning the corner.
"Saturday's first half display at Carlisle was such a surprise after the Northampton result and it is fair to say it is one of the most disappointing I have seen in my 18 months at the club.
"The hope and expectation looking forward is to see more of the way we played against Northampton than we did in the first half at Carlisle."
Till is also very optimistic that Donachie can still turn around the club's fortunes.
"Willie took over when the club were in a similar position last year and turned things around in the final two thirds of the season.
"The results we were getting at the end of last season were excellent, so we need to rediscover that form."
