Donachie: Moving closer to becoming manager
Willie Donachie today took a step closer to becoming Millwall's next manager after the club's board assured the caretaker boss that they are not currently speaking to any other candidates about the position.

Donachie, who has been in charge of the first team since Nigel Spackman's departure, has overseen a steady improvement in results and has guided The Lions to the Third Round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, although the team still remain in the relegation zone. And although he has yet to be appointedon a full-time basis, there is currently no one else in the frame for the position.

"The managerial situation is unchanged," said a club spokesman. "The feeling is Willie is doing a good job at the moment and he's still in charge."
