Robinson, who made his Lions debut way back in 2002, picked up 985 votes, with defender Danny Senda a distant second with a mere 154 votes after leading by example throughout the entire season.
"It's a proud moment for Paul to win Player of the Year and he fully deserves it," manager Kenny Jackett told the club's official site after the announcement was made. "He has had a terrific season and he has been very consistent. I'm really pleased for him."
Robinson was the hot favourite for the award having hardly missed a game all season and has been Mr. Consistent at the heart of The Lions' defence, alongside Zak Whitbread, who came a creditable third despite missing large chunks of the current campaign.
