Byfield has scored ten goals in 15 League One appearances since joining Millwall in the summer and although the club are keen on keeping him - they turned down a bid from Swansea City over the weekend - it now looks likely that he'll leave The Den.
"Swansea made an approach, but Millwall have now turned that down," his agent Steve Davies told skysports.com. "He is desperate to go back up north, but while he is at Millwall he will remain professional and keep scoring goals.
"At the moment, he is a Millwall player and while he is at the club, he is paid to score goals and that's what he will do.
"But he has made no secret of his desire to go back up north."
