The Millwall boss is apparently keen to sign defender Scott Barron, a player he rated highly during his time as assistant manager to Joe Royal at Portman Road, as competition for Tony Craig.
"He is a very good professional," he told the South London Press. "I had backed him to became a good first team player at Ipswich
"He is not the biggest, but he has really worked on his fitness and got a lot stronger recently -and he can run all day. He can play anywhere on the left."
The 21-year-old left back, who has made 15 appearances for the first team, is available after current Town boss Jim Magilton told him that he would not be offered a new contract this summer.
