Gary Alexander will be free to face his former club this weekend after the red card he picked up against Bristol Rovers on Saturday was over turned on appeal.
Alexander was dismissed by referee Phil Gibbs after blocking a Ricky Lambert header on the line shortly before half-time but despite the player's protests he was sent off for denying a goal-scoring opportunity.
Manager Kenny Jackett launched an appeal against the strikers suspension yesterday after viewing the video evidence and receiving support from Rover's Lambert who was quoted as saying that he thought the sending off was harsh. In light of Lamber's testimony and after watching video of the incident, Alexander was cleared by an FA panel and is now free to face Leyton Orient at The Den on Saturday.
