Alexander the Great

Having brought Leeds United's unbeaten run to a sudden halt on Saturday, Millwall striker Gary Alexander is now gunning for their position at the top of the table and is confident that The Lions can put a run together to put them back in the promotion race.

Alexander's 84th minute header gave Kenny Jackett's men a thoroughly deserved victory over United and with Colchester United set to enter The Den on Saturday, the Lions hitman knows another three points could set Millwall up nicely for the Christmas run-in

"It's my first goal against Leeds, what an atmosphere and what a time to score - everyone's buzzing," he told the club's official website.

"We're on a little bit of a run now and want to continue it against Colchester. Colchester are playing well, they are in the top six and this Saturday is an opportunity for us to make up for points we've dropped earlier in the season.

"It's a good chance for us to close up on the top-six sides; we've beaten Leeds and if we want to be challenging up there at the end of the season we know what we've got to do."
