A sorry night in Wales

Whitbread: netted past Edwards
Willie Donachie's new-look Millwall side crashed out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy with a 3-2 defeat away to Swansea City, having led 2-1, with Zak Whitbread inadvertantly scoring the winner by putting the ball into his own net.

With key players rested, the manager decided to give his two on-loan signings Jamie O'Hara and Jay Simpson there first starts for the club with fan favourite Chris Hackett also returning to the line-up. But it was a night of mixed fortunes for the trio with Simpson shining by creating The Lions' first for Ben May before adding the second shortly before half-time.

However, for Tottenham's O'Hara it was a night to forget as he was sent off during stopage time at the end of the match.

To complete Donachie's misery, he lost both Alan Dunne and goalkeeper Chris Day to injury in the first half, giving debuts in the process to youngsters Tom Kilbey and Preston Edwards. And with Millwall's next game away to Brighton on Friday evening the manager knows he'll probably be without two of his key first-teamers in what is rapidly becoming a must-win game.
