Incoming!!
We'll start on the positives first and give you the concrete news coming from Zampa Road in the past fortnight. The goods news is that Millwall currently have two players on trial - goalkeeper Danny Milosevic and an Argentinian centre forward who's just been released by SPL side Livingston who netted just four goals last season... Mmmmm. Elsewhere, Tony Warner has been offered an improved contract and Andy Marshall is set to have talks with the club about his future next week.
The club are also said to be in talks with former West Brom left back Neil Clement and Fulham striker Barry Hayles was said to be a target but now looks to be heading elsewhere. Sean Gregan's name has also been mentioned and there was talk of The Lions looking overseas for a couple of players including a Nigerian midfielder and a South African striker - Siyabonga Nomvete - but there have been no concrete moves for either player.
Probably the most ridiculous rumour currently doing the rounds is the imminent arrival of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink on loan from Chelsea, with The Blues said to be prepared to pay the lion's share - excuse the pun - of the striker's wages. We can't see it ourselves. Nor can we see Henrik Larsson dusting off the likes of Benfica for a place in Millwall's starting line-up...
Not Coming!!
Apart from the aforementioned Barry Hayles, Millwall have also missed out on Port Vale's Stephen McPhee, who is apparently off to Bristol City, and Torquay United striker David Graham, who's packing his bags for Wigan. Elsewhere, former Lion Stevie Crawford joined First Division rivals Plymouth Argyle on a free transfer...
Dearly Departed?
Now for the bad news... As reported on Millwall Mad yesterday, Willy Gueret has left the club after being told by Dennis Wise that he was surplus to requirements but he certainly won't be the last to leave.
Finally, Andy Roberts' is now living on borrowed time if last week's "tabloid sensation" proves to be correct and has been told to look for another club while the rumour that A.C. Milan have come in for Dave Livermore also looks to be unfounded...
More next week!
